Energy Ball

Wind Energy

Home Energy has developed a unique concept, that entails that energy is yielded from wind through a spherical turbine: the Energy Ball. The Energy Ball offers the following benefits above a traditional propeller powered wind turbine:
• No noise disturbance; the sound of the wind turbines is caused by the airflow at the end of the propellers. Because of the spherical design of the Energy Ball it has no such ends, causing it to be silent.
• Higher efficiency; the aerodynamic design of the Energy Ball ensures a higher efficiency in the yield of energy.
• Aesthetic design; The shape and appearance in combination with its silent nature, make the Energy Ball excellently suited for placement in housing areas. The design also prevents the forming of drop shadow. Due to its appearance the Energy Ball is a favourite among architects and projectdevelopers.

Models
There are two variations of the Energy Ball.
– Energy Ball V100
– Energy Ball V200

Grid connected or battery charged
The Energy Ball can be supplied in a electricity grid connected version with a WindPower Inverter. This converts the generated energy to electricity suited to be supplied to the grid. When you put the plug in the electric socket, you can use the generated energy for whatever you like. When you are not using electricity, the Energy Ball will cause your electricity meter to dial back.
The Energy Ball can also be supplied in a battery connected version with a WindPower Charger. This Energy Ball converts the generated energy to electricity suited for charging the most common battery’s.

Energy Ball V100

Product description
The Energy Ball V100 is a spherical small wind turbine with a diameter of 1 meter. The Energy Ball V100 has 6 rotor blades and is in particular suitable for installation in urban area’s. Since the Energy Ball V100 does not cause any nuisance due to noise or shadow, permits are generally granted faster than comparable small wind turbines. The Energy Ball V100 is installed on a free standing pole with a total height of 10 or 12 meter, or on a flat roof mast with a total height of 3 meters.

At a wind speed of 17 m/s the Energy Ball V100 reaches its maximum output, the maximum output of the Energy Ball V100 is 550 Watt. When the Energy Ball V100 is delivering its maximum output, the power supplied to the grid by the WindPower Inverter is 500 W. The Energy Ball V100 is capable of generating 500kWh per annum at a site with an average wind speed of 7 m/s. It is however necessary to install the Energy Ball V100 in an open location on top of a high pole (12 m) to achieve this.

Energy Ball V200

Product description
The Energy Ball V200 has a bigger diameter than the Energy Ball V100 and delivers substantially more power. The V200 has 5 rotor blades. With a diameter of almost 2 meters the Energy Ball V200 is suitable for installation in urban area’s according to EU and North American legislation. Since the Energy Ball does not cause any nuisance due to noise or shadow, permits are generally granted faster than comparable small wind turbines. The Energy Ball V200 is installed on a free standing pole with a total height of 12 or 15 meters.

At a wind speed of 19 m/s (wind force 8 to 9 Beaufort) the Energy Ball V200 reaches its maximum output, the maximum output of the Energy Ball V200 is 2500 W. When the Energy Ball V200 is delivering its maximum output, the power supplied to the grid by the WindPower Inverter is 2250 W. The Energy Ball V200 is capable of generating 1750 kWh per annum at a site with an average wind speed of 7 m/s. It is however necessary to install the Energy Ball V200 in an open location on top of a high pole (15 m) to achieve this.
